Thank you so much!

And I'm glad you think so :) I love scary games with an innocent-looking premise!

Didn't want to read and run so here are my thoughts after playing.

I enjoyed the demo! I really want to see what happens next so was bummed when it ended at an interesting part.

Spoiler: Liev really scared me with his sudden change in personality.

My only criticism is I would have liked to see the events that are summarised at the start instead of just being told about them. It would be good to see what Liev is like at school around other people too. But we just get told what he's like and don't even see him till we go on a date with him.

Liev is really cute btw. I love his design and it's mostly why I decided to play.

Great work! I look forward to playing the full version.

Hi! I'm glad you decided to comment, it's much appreciated!

Thank you for playing! And I'm sorry to end it on such a huge cliffhanger, haha.

And *SPOILER WARNING!*: Yeah, I scared myself when drawing some of his more... intense expressions, so I understand how you feel very well...

Thank you for the feedback! I understand that I was 'telling' during the intro rather than 'showing'. I chose to summarise the events leading up to the main story as I didn't want to make the intro drag on for too long and risk making MC seem self-pitying/self-absorbed.

And as for Liev, I chose to describe him like that as I wanted to make him seem like some sort of legendary 'idol' that people (including MC) don't really know much about. A lot of what MC says in the beginning is based on how they've seen him act in a public setting, and until the day of their date MC has been much too nervous to talk to him on their own.

Thank you! I'm glad you like Liev and his design <3

And thank you for playing my game!

You did a really great job drawing all his different expressions!

That makes sense that you didn't want the intro to drag on too long and for Liev to seem more mysterious (as in the player/MC not knowing much about him.) It does work and isn't an issue. I was just being nit picky I think. Telling rather than showing does work well in some cases. :)

No worries! I look forward to the full game or any updates you put out! You are talented and I really like your art style. :D

As someone who's absolutely deprived of male yanderes from media, I can't help but be very grateful for you & your game's existence! I love both the shy and confident routes with their set of convos! Also, your code really helped me out with finding my way on Renpy's engine. Thank you very much for that.

Also, as someone with a habit of skipping lore dumps & preferring to go straight to the romance, imagine my (happy) surprise when I noticed that mc's lore was lightly explained to the player. Don't get me wrong, I love me some angsty lore but I don't want the writer shoving  me with the game's entire plot at the start. Of course, this doesn't mean that you should completely ignore mc's backstory due to it being rather important to the plot in this particular game.

I just loved how you summarized it to a smaller degree, but not small enough for the player to forget it as an insignificant detail. And, despite mc not having a physical appearance yet in the demo, you could truly feel their personality shining through. I'm also glad that not only mc but male lead himself feels realistic.

Of course, the story has its hard-to-believe fictional parts, (for example male lead being the head of the student council, UN youth ambassador, leader of 2 clubs, etc.)  though the character dept male lead has & his insanity sells the deal for me.  All in all, loved it! Can't wait for the full version and right before the demo ended I was sooo interested on what was gonna happen next! Then it showed me the 'end of the demo' screen thing and it left me hanging like a Wattpad fanfic that hasn't been updated since 2013. Beautiful!

Also, please remember to take care of yourself, especially after carrying such a beauty of a game for us yandere lovers. Oh, and there's this small issue in the Windows demo. When I ask Liev about where he's from in the lunch scene, it shows me that 'an exception has occurred'.  Though every other choice seems to work well for me. Again, thank you very much and I hope all goes well for you!! ^-^

:o What a long review! Not that I'm complaining, I absolutely love detailed comments! I really appreciate that you took the time to talk about my game like this!

I think the yandere genre definitely needs more guys, which is a big reason why I made this game in the first place! I'm happy that you enjoyed both routes, as I strove to make them as different as possible so that choices weren't just a one-off 'pick this, have one line of dialogue be different' thing. I'm glad that my code is helpful! Good luck on any Ren'py projects you may have going on :)

I definitely wanted to be able to flesh out my MC at the beginning, though I'm not a fan of huge exposition dumps where you learn their entire life story before the main game. I'm glad that you can see their personality shine through! In my opinion, a lot of yandere stories have pretty boring, predictable protagonists, so I wanted to avoid those clichés.

Yeah, I can see your point on that. At first glance, Liev really does seem too perfect/unrealistic to be true... but it was intentional, haha. I wanted people to think, "How could any sane person deal with all that?" Well...

Hehehe, I can relate to that. Those Wattpad fics are so addicting... and then BAM, the author hasn't updated in 9 years. But I'll do my best to make sure you aren't waiting for that long, oh gosh!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the concern... T_T And you take care of yourself too!

I'm sorry to hear about that! I'll have a look at my code and update the game to fix it.

Thank you so much for playing, and thank you again for all the feedback! <3

Hi again! So, I had a look through my code and couldn't figure out what I had done wrong. Would you be able to describe what led to the exception? Did you pick any of the conversation topics beforehand, and if so, in what order? Thank you again for the feedback!

It looks like this and I've just picked it as the first option for the lunch date. Same results even if I picked every other option then ask about where he came from. For the 2nd I specifically asked about his siblings, distracted him, asked about pets, said cat was my favorite, and called little onion cute, then asked what's his favorite food. After all that, I asked where he came from. I was currently on the 'confident' route. And no problem! If you need more specifics, I'll be happy to tell you! Best of luck with the game!

It looks like I left a stray nonexistent variable in the script of that build. I'll update the game and the issue should be resolved! Thank you for letting me know!

Loving the story so far! The protagonist's reactions are pretty much how I would react too, so that's really cool. I'd love to see more!!

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far. I'm really happy you find them relatable, since I based a lot of their reactions off of how I would react in those situations! :D

I LOVE IT!!!  >.<

Thank you so much! <3

ayooo just played this game and i love it! specially how expressive he is with dem big ol eyes lmao

also you mentioned that there is "A point system that is a determinant of your ending"? is there more than one ending? just checking!

(also Liev is really cute)

(+1)

Thank you for the compliments! Haha, drawing the expressions is one of my favourite parts of creating character sprites.

Also, that point is only true for the full game! In the demo, each of your choices can lead to different events/conversation topics, but there is really only one 'ending' at the moment. I'm really sorry for the confusion, I'll be sure to edit that!

(Hehe, I'm really glad you think so!)

Thank you so much for playing my game!

I love this game, can't wait to see more :b

Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you like it :)

oh my god, i want to play the full game so baaaaad, i loved the whole experience <3

Thank you so much for playing! I'm really happy that you like it so much :) <3

Ahhhh! Oh my goodness, you have no idea how happy playing this game has made me...I am such a huge, HUGE fan of male yanderes, I'm always scouring for new male yandere content, and this game is definitely scratching that itch for me!

Despite the fact that it's only a demo, you've executed this concept so, so well, I am genuinely so moved, and beyond excited for what's in store! I'm also super excited that he doesn't want to kill me! That's always what I look for first in a yandere guy hahaha, if my death isn't on the table, I'm sold ;)

Thank you so much for making this demo, I'm going to eagerly wait for the full release, though no pressure or anything, please take your time in making the final product! I have nothing but faith in what this is going to end up being, the demo has me completely sold.

Also, thank you so much for allowing us to rename ourselves, I always love having that option in dating games to better self-insert ^^ I could honestly gush about this game until my dying breath, but I'm gonna stop ranting now. Suffice to say, what you've got here is great, from the art, the characters, the progression, and I can't wait to see where it goes from here. I'm sending all my love to you! <3

OMG thank you for writing such a long review T_T And finally, a fellow male yandere fan! They're so rare to find in media, aren't they?

I'm elated at your excitement! I'll do my very best to make the wait worth it! And yeah, Liev isn't the type of guy to go straight to murder to solve his problems, haha. He loves you too much. But he has other ways of doing so...

I'm glad you liked the customizable name! I've always thought it was a cool feature, and definitely more immersive than just going with a default name.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU so much for playing my game, and for all the love. I hope that you have an awesome day!! <3 <3 <3

this demo was so fun to play! I'm really looking forward to playing more xx

the art is sooo good and the expressions in Liev's eyes?? the detail in this game is amazing, even with the music that plays in certain situations. i agree with the other reviewers, the atmosphere and interactions between mc and Liev is very relatable and accurate to how it play out in real life, esp with mc's thoughts. can't wait to play more !! :)

(+1)

Thank you! That is very encouraging to hear xx

Thank you so much for all of the compliments! This is my first game, so I'm really happy that you find it so detailed! I had fun setting the music for it hehe.

I'm glad that you think the interactions between MC and Liev are realistic! And MC is pretty much how I would be acting on a date with him, so they are partially based on real life!

I really appreciate you playing my game! Thank you so much. I hope you have a great day :)

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad that you found it fun!

Thank you also for the compliments on the art! I drew it all myself so that makes me so overwhelmingly happy, hehe.

It's good to know that you found the interactions realistic! I'm not a fan of contrived misunderstandings so I did my best to avoid writing that into the story.

I really appreciate you taking the time to play my game! Thank you so much, I hope you have a great day!

Oooh the demo was really interesting! The art is so cute and I'm really curious about how the story is going to develop! Liev is really cute haha why am I already attached to him. I liked the MC too, so far they aren't obnoxious, stupid or too rash and act like a normal, sane human being who values their life lol. They're very relatable.

Can't wait to see more!!

Thank you so much!! I drew all the CGs and sprite art myself so that is really flattering to hear haha.

It's totally fine to be attached to him, he's just as if not more attached to you ;))).

I'm really glad you liked the MC as well! I hate protagonists that just run away from or are overly mean to the love interest. I'm especially glad you found them relatable! I was very worried that they'd come off as too much of a nervous wreck.

I really appreciate you taking the time to play my game! I hope you have a great day!
